Dawn Bynoe, a native New Yorker, blossomed early as a musical talent she began singing notes back to her mother by the time she was a year old. She went on to later sing at her childhood home Church Bethel Gospel Assembly in Harlem New York. She attended the Prestigious Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and the Arts and received her bachelor’s degree in Theater/Music from Long Island University/C.W. Post College.
You may have seen or heard Dawn in several regional and national commercial ads, including Six Flags, Slim fast, Rickles, Ryan’s, VH-1, Crest, Bellsouth, U.S. Virgin Islands, Popeye’s. Television shows Cosby, and All My Children. Films include Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns and the Family that Preys. As a Voice artist Dawn has voiced several historical figures for the Underground railroad Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio.
You also might remember Dawn from Atlanta’s “King of Glory” production in her role as Elizabeth or her role as Wanda from “Crowns” produced by IKAM at the 14th Street Playhouse. Dawn has performed in numerous regional and national stage play productions including Tyler Perry’s ‘Why did I get Married’, A National stage recording of a Black Noel for the Museum of Television and radio.
She has also performed for many notable political figures like the late former Mayor of New York City, David Dinkins, as well as prestigious organizations like the Urban League, the Anti-defamation league, and the NAACP.
Dawn has also had the pleasure of working with Grammy winning group Arrested Development, has also performed with Phil Perry and Howard Hewitt to name a few.
In the Spring of 2013 Dawn wrote, produced, and directed and performed her own show ‘Jewel…A diamond living in the rough’ at the 14th Street Playhouse.
Most recently Dawn was featured in the film ‘Love & Debt’ opposite critically acclaimed actress Bellamy Young directed Valerie Landsburg, and on television the first season of Bounce TV’s Saints and Sinners as ‘Miss Jill’.
Dawn resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband Richard and they have three children.
