Terms of Use

We are absolutely thrilled to begin coaching you or your student! At Rooted Music Coaching, our mission is to create a safe environment where students are able to gain an individually tailored, deeper musical understanding through purposeful teaching and community. 

As we seek to establish this incredible community of musicians and coaches, we operate within a framework which helps us do so. Please take a moment to review our policies below.

 

Monthly Rates / Registration Fee

Monthly fees cover lessons only. However, RMC also offers many other activities and performance opportunities: two showcases, one in May and another in December as well as opportunities to serve local nursing homes throughout the year. 

A one-time registration fee of $50 per family will be assessed at registration, but never incurred again.

Monthly Lesson Rates:

For specific monthly lesson rates, please refer to the specific web page for your RMC location. To find these pages, scroll to the top of this page, hover over the “Studio Lessons” tab, where you’ll see a drop down menu of locations appear. Click on your location and scroll down to fine your location’s monthly lesson rate.

**Please note a 3% processing fee will apply to all transactions**

NOTE:

Occasionally, there will be months with an additional lesson (additional Monday, Tuesday, etc) – one more than was paid for at the outset of each month. This additional lesson can be used in one of two ways. 

1 – This additional lesson can be used as a “built-in” make up lesson once per quarter for lessons eligible to be made up.

2 – If you or your student do not have any make up time needed, we will proceed with the additional lesson as a PAID lesson and will initiate a one-time charge for that lesson.  

 

Monthly Payments

Monthly fees are paid for the upcoming calendar month by automatic withdrawal. Upon registration, RMC will ask for credit card information to keep on file for monthly withdrawal. Monthly withdrawals will occur on the 1st of each month. Cards that are declined will need to be updated at your earliest convenience, as a fee of $10 will be added on to the monthly tuition if payment is not received by the 10th of the month.

 

Missed Lessons

Rooted Music Coaching (RMC) offers makeup lessons as a courtesy to students who provide a 24-hour written notice (via email or text) for missed lessons.

Coaches are not obligated to make up lessons with less than 24-hour notice, and missed makeup lessons will not be rescheduled. Makeup lessons are not honored if a student quits, and no credits or refunds are given for missed lessons without sufficient notice.

If a coach needs to miss a lesson, they must give RMC seven (7) days’ written notice. RMC will attempt to provide a substitute coach, and if unsuccessful, the coach must make up the missed lesson. If that’s not possible, RMC will refund the cost of the lesson to the student.

Coaches consistently missing lessons will not continue working at RMC, and the organization will help the student find another coach.

The information below in italics is specifically for our NCCS location families:

Music lessons at NCCS follow the school calendar from September to April. RMC aligns with school holidays, closings, and early dismissals. Lesson rates cover an average of three (3) weeks per month for eight (8) months, totaling 24 coaching sessions per student for the school year.

While RMC cannot guarantee individual makeup lessons throughout the year due to scheduling constraints, excused absences from September to April qualify students for “Make Up May.”

Make Up May participants will be pro-rated and receive priority makeup lesson status during their regular lesson time to complete their 24-lesson coaching package before the end of the school year.

Memorial Day

Fourth of July

Labor Day

Thanksgiving Break – November 22, 23, 24

Christmas Break – December 24 thru January 1

Permission to Use Video or Photos of Students

When getting started in lessons with RMC, RMC assumes the right to post videos or photos of your student in newsletters and/or social media. This will generally be videos or images from showcases (performances) or lessons. 

If you prefer for your student NOT to appear in any images or videos, please contact your location’s Director and they will make that arrangement.

Summer Lessons

RMC offers lessons throughout the summer months (June & July). Students will keep the same time slots as they had during the school year, unless a change is specifically requested. If lessons are discontinued during the summer, there is no guarantee the slot will still be available in August again.

 

Discontinuing Lessons

Lessons can be canceled at any time. Families will not receive any refund of payments previously made. For instance, if a student or family discontinues lessons on the 3rd of the month and they’ve paid on the 1st already, no refunds will be given. Though we will make every effort to work with students leaving RMC and/or planning to return after a break, we cannot hold or guarantee lesson time slots for students discontinuing lessons for more than one month.
